Good afternoon, We are beginning our second session at Upper Iowa University (QC Center) and are looking for quality cooperating teachers to help guide our students towards becoming effective teachers. I have 12 students who will need placements for their observations this session (October 28-December 19). If you have a cooperating teacher who would like to help, please let me know as soon as possible, so that the students can start their hours immediately. Requirements for the 20 hour observation include helping the cooperating teacher in whatever way the cooperating teacher feels comfortable (i.e. having our students creating bulletin boards, taking attendance, grading papers, working one-on-one or in small groups, etc), writing a lesson plan based on an observed lesson and possibly co-teaching a lesson with the cooperating teacher. Students will use their experiences in their classrooms to discuss decision making and classroom management, create lessons and units, and begin to consider assessments during their seminar time.
