What is Head Start?Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness in children ages 3 to 5 years olds. Head Start is a comprehensive program that focuses on the social and cognitive development of children through providing educational, nutritional, mental health, disability and social services to children and their families.Is my Child eligible for CUL Head Start?To be eligible for the Columbus Urban League Head Start program, children must be 3 to 5 years old by, and not eligible for Kindergarten in their school district. Families must reside south of I70 and be within 100% of the Federal Poverty guidelines or in receipt of public assistance. All services are provided to children with disabilities.
